Agreed about Girardi. The Yankees pulled the same thing on us as they did to the Sawx. They waited until we locked in our new skipper. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. But I'm looking forward.
Poor Grandy isn't even on the Dodgers WS roster, from what I understand. I'm hoping that we can bring back Jay Bruce. Granderson still has some good years in him, but he doesn't compare as favorably as Brucie. We'll see how our uncertain outfield situation shakes out.
Yeah, Mickey Callaway? What the hell is up with that? Why don't they just ask Gary Gentry if he'd like to give it a shot. I think the Orioles will go after Bruce or Granderson, but they're a cheap organization so who knows? I must admit that Mickey Callaway came out of the blue. I like what I heard from him at his introduction press conference. Also how Sandy Alderson said that they whittled down their 35 or so candidates to six for a second round of interviews, only to realize that Callaway is the "only" one for the position. Something struck him about this guy, despite the fact that he has no managerial experience. I trust Sandy Alderson. He is my GM. I trust Sandy Alderson. He is my GM. As far as the Yankees giving Girardi the boot, as long as there's chaos with that team I'm happy. I've heard it said that he didn't see eye to eye with GM Brian Cashman, and that he was already destined to be ousted. That being the case, what would have happened if the Yankees had gotten past the Astros, forget about if they were to beat the Dodgers? At least this way they have some cover to let him go.

So who replaces Girardi? I hope they get John Farrell. That'll teach 'em.

Astros go up, 2-1. Houston turns Yu Darvish into P.U. Darvish. Am I right, people?

Welp, so much for sweeping in Houston. But when the team travels back to LA, leave Giles in Houston. He can be 100 Miles Away Giles. GET IT?!?!? Damnitall.
As for LA???
Verlander: Fine..-puts on Infinity Baseball Gauntlet-.... I'll do it myself.

Damn it's so close, it ain't over!!! GO STROS!! I watched through the seventh, which took me a bit past midnight. The Stros had taken a three-run lead, and I hoped that they'd hold onto it. I don't have skin in the game like you do, SirMoe, so I packed it in and got the news about their struggle to victory this morning.

Walk-off hit/home run to end the series?
I'm thinking... no.

Man, that was as close as you can get to a draw in major league baseball! Every time one team scored, the other evened it out! It's intense, man...

I knew after I calmed down and over all got ready for bed it was well past 1. I'm still tired, haha. But here's the finish: And if you have time, highlights. Although highlights rarely do it justice, it's still fun to watch.

Kramer: Jerry, all these big MLB teams, they walk off everything. Jerry: You don't even know what a walk-off is. Kramer: Do you? Jerry: No. I don't. Kramer: But they do, and they are the ones walking it off. Jerry: I wish I just had the last twenty seconds of my life back.

I haven't had television or internet since Sunday night. The storm that came through knocked out power in most of 5 or 6 towns, including mine. I also have no heat. I have no idea what's going on in the series. Also, what year is this?

But it's gone? It's thawed out? What you want to do is go down to the power company. Ask for Reddy Kilowatt. He'll help you.

Well, he's covered in sparks and has one finger pointed and is near an outlet. I figure he stuck his finger in there and his genitalia took the brunt of the shock.
