Fred Gwynne was great in that. And the sister in the basement really freaked me out.

You know what else creeped me out? That scene in Creepshow with the roaches...

I Spit on Your Grave (1978) That one was hard to watch. Yeah it was. I like it because it's a miracle such a film was made back then, and it doesn't feel like a Wes Craven movie.

Was it supposed to be a metaphor for the women's lib movement, because the rape and cannibalism porn made it hard to see the message. Edit: Woops. I'm getting this movie confused with Last House on the Left because I watched them around the same time.

Have any of you seen those old Faces of Death films?
It probably wasn't good that me and two of my junior high school friends were able to rent those tapes. You can't unsee the live monkey getting beaten to death with tiny hammers and its brains eaten right out of its skull, ever.

Did they show how those special really tiny hammers were flown in from El Paso?

It's not even that it was too disturbing, it was just bad.

One of the "volumes" is full of obvious fakes. I remember laughing at most of it.

I'm not sure if it was Faces of Death, but I saw the video of, the Pennsylvania State Treasurer, Robert Budd Dwyer's suicide (the "Hey Man Nice Shot" guy). It was pretty disturbing.

That video of Dwyer pops up on YouTube (it may be on there now) all the time. With all the deletions, account cancellations, strikes, etc. you'd think YouTube would be able to do a better job of monitoring and not allow something like that posted. Same with the video of the British comedian, Tommy Cooper, dropping dead on live television.

No, the video, to YouTube. It's only gonna get deleted again.

Did you ever see Cannibal Holocaust? As far as fake documentaries go, it's top notch. It seemed real to me.

I saw the infamous cat in a room full of feral mice scene in Men Behind the Sun and quickly realized definitely no animal torture either (fake or real). I don't need nightmares borne from such imagery. I have enough problems.

My friend showed me an ISIS beheading video once. The amount and speed at which blood spread across the floor was insane. Again, this is the kind of shit I'm talking about. Stinkaroo. Real bad. Thanks for the "tickets" though.

The worst thing about Cannibal Holocaust is it contains actual animal killings, but I think you can find an animal cruelty free version. I'm against killing animals for film, but with CH they were filming with actual Colombian native tribes, who kill animals that way all the time for food, and they ate the ones killed in the movie. So really, they would have been killed anyway.

So really, they would have been killed anyway. It is one of the most well-made, brutal splatter films I've ever seen. It practically created its own genre, because who the hell has seen a Serbian movie, much less a disturbing gore fest from there? The cinematography was gorgeous too, the high contrast yet analog look...I can go on. I can't do animal torture, so maybe one day I will look for the version of CH that edits those scenes out. I heard how it was culturally "humane", but I'm skeptical whether they ate the animals. It's not like the Humane Society was present on set.
