You guys ready for some Jagger?
I was born ready for some Jagger. Oh, I thought you said "Jägermeister." Then no.

Like Don DeFore. Or that turd that played Michael on "Good Times".

Case in point is Eddy Murphy. Yeah, he was funny when he was fresh and new, but watching those old bits today just aren't very good. Another couple who I can do without are Mike Myers and Will Ferrill. Occasinally funny at first, but just on the show. Their movies I simply cannot watch.

Murphy did a lot of things that got old fast, but as you said, he was great when he started on SNL. He pretty much saved that show after that gut-wrenching season 6.

That was the Jean Doumanian season. Fred 'Happy Days' Silverman just didn't get SNL's humor and didn't think Lorne Michaels was necessary. He made Michaels an insultingly low offer to remain as executive producer and his assistant, Jean Doumanian, was the result. Other than Murphy and (maybe) Joe Piscopo, the show was a disaster with her at the helm. Charles Rocket was supposed to be the 'it' guy on the show. Didn't pan out that way. Ironically, Rocket is Julia Louis-Dreyfus' SO. After Rocket said, "fuck" on the air, Doumanian was unceremoniously replaced by Dick 'Wide World of Sports' Ebersol. He was no Lorne Michaels, but he was lightyears better than Doumanian, an admittedly low bar.

She's married to Brad Hall, another SNL alum. Regarding Charles Rocket, it was determined that he committed suicide in 2005.

Weren't they on the show about the same time? I don't recall Brad Hall as being particularly funny, either.

But they did have a very young Gilbert Gottfried, whom they rarely used for whatever reason. Even Murphy was seldom used in the beginning. The show was so awful, it's memorable.

I was waiting for season 6 to come out, just for laughs (but not good ones). Then they said it would never be released. I'll bet it would sell a ton of discs. Like watching a train wreck.

It would have a very esoteric appeal.

Ah, the copyright problem. The bane of the "WKRP in Cincinnati" DVD release as well as post-2012 "Married: With Children" releases. Frank Sinatra: You ain't using my "Love and Marriage" for the theme. Ed O'Neill: What if we do? Frank Sinatra: You'll find David Faustino hanging upside down with a fork in his ass.
