One of the last of the true greats. All class. I got to shake his hand when the Brewers visited Fenway Park in 1975. My buddies hated me for months after that. RIP, Mr. Aaron

RIP, Mr. Aaron Some people from bygone eras transcend the field for which they became famous. Aaron was one of those guys. Even if you didn't follow baseball, everyone knew the guy who broke Babe Ruth's homerun record. For many, he still holds it since Barry Bonds took steroids and Aaron's feat is 'clean'. Sadly, the intense racist anger Aaron had to suffer through made his accomplishment bittersweet and, even though he was able to remain a decent human being throughout his life, he never forgot it.

Real all-time HR leader: Henry Aaron Real single-season HR leader: Roger Maris What's pathetic is that someone commented on a baseball website "RIP to GOAT" and some millennial dipshit said "Oh, did Barry Bonds die?"

The best way to put it is Bonds gets an asterisk by his name. Aaron does not.

The best way to put it is Bonds gets an asterisk by his name. Aaron does not. Sad thing is, isn't Bonds Willie Mays' godson? That has to be rough. You know Willie must know that Bonds is a stinking cheater and yet, he can't bad-mouth him.
