You folks on this board sure drink a lot of booze, don't you? Men face reality. Women don't. That's why men need to drink.

Robitussin? That sissy cough syrup? Remember Vicks Formula 44? Had the consistency of molasses and tasted like road tar but you didn't cough for years after you took it. 44. Was that the proof or the viscosity? That's the beauty of it. Nobody knows. Remember, it was a formula. Very scientific. Can't you picture the laboratory, the bunsen burners, MIT grads figuring out the right amounts of cough-suppressing enzymes that had to go into the syrup? Einstein couldn't have figured it out. It's like the Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices.

Cafe Latte from Java World [cold brew iced coffee] That's your 10th Cafe Latte today. You're all hopped up on the caffeine. Back in high school and college I used to pull all nighters with ease, helped by a significant amount of caffeine. These days i'm crazy regimented. Green tea in the morning, coffee after lunch, and maybe tea again later in the day if I really feel like I need it. You'd see an AntonioDaniels shaped hole through the window if I pulled a Kramer with those cafe lattes.

Lindeman's Pinot Noir - The best $3.98 I ever spent. Seriously though, I've had better pinots but not at that price point. Their merlot and cabernet sauvignon are also top notch.

Whenever I drink J.D. my girlfriend can smell it a mile away and I get the "drinking again?" stare. As Spanky's father said in "Anniversary Trouble": "Guilt! It's written all over your face!" Spanky then takes a look at himself in the mirror. And to paraphrase the punchline from that short, "You can fool some of the people some of the time ... but you can't fool your girlfriend."

I was around in the sixties and had a buddy who thought that the "Spanky" from the pop group was the same "Spanky" from the Our Gang shorts.
