Hadn't heard this one in ages. Heard it this morning. That woman has a real "come hither" look. Am I led to believe that she's Ame Caline? She gets top billing over Raymond Lefevre and his Orchestra, but he wins out with the larger typeface. So there, Ame! So what's up next in your rotation, Jackie Gleason's "Music For Lovers Only"?

So what's up next in your rotation, Jackie Gleason's "Music For Lovers Only"? Gleason was amazing. He didn't read or write music or play an instrument, yet his band is right up there with Lawrence Welk's.

Hey, Raymond Lefevre couldn't even walk down the street in Calais, France. He had a cult following. They followed him like a cult!

How sweet it is! I saw Joe the bartender, but not the Pour Soul or Reginald van Gleason.

After reading through the 'Millar has arrived!' thread, I was reminded of this little number. Now I wonder if he too likes to tell tales about ghostly-faced women:

@ SirMoeHimselfCome on man it's the 90's, it's Chopped and Screwed time. Sheeeeeeeyit, oh I know all about that stuff man, I live where chopped and screwed first spawned, lol. Every rapper wannabe in my schools had backpacks full of their mixtapes and cds, and most of it was chopped and screwed. ALWAYS trying to sell em. That or they would take regular songs and chop and screw them, AND sell them. One friend of mine even took the Super Mario Bros theme and other video game music and chopped n screwed em, AND sold them, heh. Maybe I bought some, maybe I didn't. Anyway, this is the song that played 20 times at any party I went to back then.

Yup back in college I met a guy from Houston, and he played nothing but Chopped & Screwed music in his apartment. Personally though, I couldn't get into any of it. One exception is SPM's 'Wiggy Wiggy' chopped & screwed (I'm sure you know it). I like it better than the original, normal speed version.

There were some songs that guys would totally butcher, being WAY too slow or adding the chops in the worst spots. Hearing a guy say "the" 5 times means you're doing it wrong. As for that beaner you mentioned, lol jk, there was really only one song I liked of his that was better, as you said, C'd n S'd. Can't remember it, but I remember his song Mary go Round was very eerie and creepy C'd and S'd, just weird.

I agree about the butchering, but in my opinion any record meant to be played at 45 RPM for example, should not deviate from that too much. I'm also a big fan of jungle / dnb , but the old days of chipmunk vocals and 200 BPM drum breaks were just corny. As far as Texas / Houston / Southern rap, I prefer when they just rap slow over lean-laden beats, like 'Still Tippin'", and what Three 6 Mafia and their cohorts were putting out. LOL, beaner. SPM sure made a name for himself outside of music - apparently he did way more than stopping short.

What? You think because I like to listen to radio, I must be Mexican? Oh, like you're not the president of the Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Fan Club? Herb Alpert has a cult following. They follow him like a cult. Not only can't he walk down the street in Tijuana, but he's not allowed to cross the border into San Diego. They're under orders to shoot him on sight.

Why can't he cross the border? Have they started building the wall? Just go the fuck around!
