I found Jerry's laundromat. He takes it all the way out to Queens. Remember what he said in "The Revenge"? "Fluff and Fold. The only way to live. I drop it off. I pick it up. It's a delight." Well, before he and Kramer trashed the washer. Fluff and Fold

Inside is a sign that says "You can't over-die. You can't over-dry".

You know, if you over-dry clothes it can start a fire.

Besides the usual pharmacological work, this one does compounding of detergents. The chemist is affiliated with the laundromat. I'll bet you haven't seen that.

That gives me an idea for another Kramer business idea, a self-cleaning toilet.

That gives me an idea for another Kramer business idea, a self-cleaning toilet. They have self-cleaning public toilet stalls in San Francisco. Fifty cents for up to 10 minutes. Every homeless person with mohair sweaters lived in those bathrooms! And they couldn't wash away all the used needles so a heroin addict could enter one and go, "Ah the mother lode!".

I always thought the laundromat was a weird set. For starters, I can't recall another show with a scene in a laundromat, and I think I might know why: it's the numerous washers and dryers required to make it seem realistic. Acquiring and hauling those things in and out of a studio would be a colossal PIA.
On top of that, it was just a seedy-looking set. Granted, that's pretty much what most laundromats look like, but it was jarring in relation to the relative cleanliness of the other Seinfeld sets.

Although you don't want to get on the bad side of those Middle Eastern bakers. But you don't think they'd haul actual machines, works and all? They'd just have their outside shells. Piece of cake. No PITA.

I mean, not everyone makes Ted Danson money.

He was actually the inspiration for the Seinfeld bad BO episode.

See, the guy who played Alf was one of those method actor types who really had to embrace the role. Ergo, he insisted on dining on felines. Well, it was really just catfood but the assistants told him the picture of a cat on the can was what was inside.

Notice when Kramer pushes open the door at the back of that set, there's a pay phone in the dark back there? I wonder if they put that set right in front of the Monk's set and that's the phone between the bathrooms...
